Thank You to Food To Share for Shepherd’s Pie

Thank you to Food To Share and all the hard working volunteers who made over 252 portions of Shepherd’s Pie today which was donated to both Wellington Storehouse Foodbank and Picton United Church County Foodbank.

Each container contained 4 portions and the smaller ones contained 2 portions. Thank you to the Wellington United Church and the Wellington Legion Branch 160 for allowing us to use their facilities to prepare and cook all the food. We couldn’t do it without your help.

Fresh For All Pumpkins Put To Good Use

Thank you to all the Foodbank Volunteers who worked so hard on Monday to make over 60 pumpkin bread from all the leftover pumpkins that were donated to us in the fall.

We had cleaned, cooked and froze all the leftover pumpkins so we could bake something with them in the winter, which we are now doing. This Friday the rest of the pumpkins will be baked into more pumpkin bread.

All the pumpkin bread will be donated to our clients at the foodbank. The pumpkins were donated from one of our clients as part of the Fresh For All Campaign and as their way of giving back for the help they received.
I love Fresh For All! Don’t forget if you have room in your garden this spring plant a row of something for your local foodbank in your area!
