This week’s After the Bell bags contained these extra fruit and vegetables – apple, orange, banana, cherry tomatoes, a yogurt tube, cheese string and a bag of snack peas which was given to families in need yesterday. The food packs allows young people to take home food to fill the gaps when other food supports – like the school breakfast or lunch programs are not available. Food Banks Canada gave us 8 weeks worth of food packs with the understanding that many kids don’t have school-based food program support during the summer. After the Bell is generously supported by fresh food sponsor Subway Canada. Lead partner Loblaw, Supporters – Kellogg Canada, Nestle, McCormick Canada and Mondelez and Sponsors CIBC, Hershey Canada, Quaker, The Global Foodbanking Network, West Rock, Sysco. Food Partners are Clover Leaf Seafoods, Dare Foods Ltd., Kellogg Canada, MadeGood Foods Canada, Mondelez International Inc., Organic Meadow, Ozery Family Bakery, Pepsi Co and Wowbutter Foods.
