Neighbours caring for neighbours! A huge thank you to the staff and owners at Midtown Brewing Company for organizing a fun weekly Trivia Night with donations being collected for the food bank. They raised $1275 and collected about $800 in food & toiletries! The #1 teams also donated their winnings! How generous! Thanks to Sharon Dempsey for sending us $200 in groceries for families in need! We received granola bars, cookies, soup, peanut butter and crackers! Neighbours helping neighbours!

Feb 26 – Many thanks to Chef Michael Hoy for preparing 62 senior meals : Baked Haddock with ginger vegetables and basmati rice. Thank you to the Wellington Legion for the use of the kitchen, and to Rick and Eunice for delivering the meals. Neighbours helping neighbours, what a caring community!

Thanks to Dave and Justin for the extra delivery last week. Once a month we receive a delivery of shelf stable and fresh food from our Tri -County Warehouse in Belleville. We appreciate all you do at Gleaners Food Bank to support the local food banks in Hastings and Prince Edward, including sourcing donations and writing grants to purchase food.

Our hearts are filled with great sadness. Fred Herbert, a friend and long time volunteer at the food bank, passed away last week. He was gentle and kind, always smiling and spreading good cheer with his sense of humour. Fred was a man with a big heart who touched many lives. He will be forever remembered and missed and his memory will live on in our hearts 💕. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
